Hey you! My name is Amanda Boleyn, founder of She Did It Her Way. I left my corporate job back in 2012 and in 2015 launched the She Did It Her Way Podcast as a resource to learn more about female entrepreneurship.

You’re here because you know there’s more to life than your 9-5 routine. You’re ready to make the LEAP.

I see you.

You’re working a 9-5 and it is just that, a 9-5.

You’re not fulfilled, you wake up every morning wondering if there is more to this thing called work; you wonder if this is how it is suppose to be. You show up, work your scheduled hours, head home and that is it. All day at work you dream about what you would be doing if you weren’t at work like...

mapping out your business plan......sending emails to network with like minded individuals who can help start or grow your business.....creating a social media strategy.....

but then when you get home you have ZERO energy to invest in your idea because you’re drained.

But you crave more. You feel lost. You lack a community that supports you, tells you the truth and encourages you to go after what you want.

People make think you’re crazy for wanting to start a business but you can’t help but listen to that little voice inside of you that tells you there IS more. You may not be able to see exactly what that more is but you know it exists.

There are three phases to quitting your job and starting your own business, “Lead Up, Leap, and Land.”

The Lead Up is extremely important because it sets you up for success in your Land. There are very important things to consider before taking the Leap. Anyone who is thinking about quitting their job to start a business must know what they’re getting themselves into.

Entrepreneurship can be portrayed as glamorous; working from coffee shops anytime you choose, making your own schedule and working on work that lights you up. And while all those things that mentioned are wonderful, amazing and great Instagram photo opps, the truth is, entrepreneurship takes a can be lonely and downright maddening at times and takes a ton of work.

I mean a ton. Not only does it take a ton of work, it also takes mental stamina. You have to be ready to learn about yourself, keep going when you don’t think you can and be willing to learn.

The Land is when you’re fully immersed into entrepreneurship, you’ve done it, you’ve quit your job, now you’re on your own. The thought of quitting your job can be extremely scary. Thoughts of “But what if I fail? What if it doesn’t work out? What will people think of me? How will I survive?” all cross your mind (or at least they did for me!), but if you educate yourself and know what to expect you’re more likely to have the confidence to take the Leap.

So you’re either still unsure if entrepreneurship is for you or you've drawn a line in the sand that you’re quitting your job and now you’re seeking out information to help you make that Leap and do it in a way that is smart.
