Hello, She Did It Her Way listeners, welcome back to another episode of the podcast. Today I am welcoming Lindsay Maloney as my podcast guest.

Lindsay is a self made business and success coach who specializes in teaching women how to start and scale their dream coaching business with simplicity and confidence. She believes that you should always choose to use your intuition to guide you as you grow your business with step-by-step teachings and creative guidance. You'll feel inspired to take her tips into action to push your business forward and work with your dream clients. Lindsay works with women who want to get unstuck and structure their brilliance into a coaching business that's sustainable and financially exhilarating. She is also the creator of Standout Coaching Academy and the host of Book Your Dream Clients Podcast

Lindsay started her business 10 years ago and currently coaches women all over the world. Whether it's just a dream in their head, or they have a specific goal in mind, because they have been doing this for a while, she helps them start to scale, specializing in the coaching business.

An idle Lindsay is not a happy Lindsay.

Additionally, Lindsay works a regular 9 to 5, not because she has to but because she genuinely enjoys it. She has worked from home for about 14 years, since she was around 21 years old. With three kids at home with me too she homeschools so her plate is quite full. Lindsay is the kind of person that likes to be busy, constantly doing something.

After having her first baby she quickly realized that she needed something to fill her down time. Babies sleep. A lot. And because she enjoys always doing something she decided she wanted to fill her time doing something that made her feel fulfilled emotionally and kept her downtime enjoyable as well.

She started taking care of herself and ended up losing 90 pounds. From this, she began dabbling with sharing her weight loss journey on Facebook, and being from a small town of less than 800 people, it resonated with a lot of people. She had zero clue what she was doing, but still people started asking her about it. And asking. And asking. And asking. She fell in love with the world of health and nutrition and allowing it to be her way of giving back to people.

She always felt like she would make a great teacher or nurse, but never felt like she could quite get there, and this was now her way of helping people. Lindsay became a health coach and spent many years ‘in the red’ before really growing into her own as a full blown successful coach.

After her second child was born, she sat time aside to really dive back in, full steam ahead. She no longer was feeling the health coaching side of her business, but instead fell in love with the business end. She decided to get a coach 30 days later and jumped from making a $200 investment to a $7,500 investment, going all in and never looking back.

Making the most of her best investment…

After working ahead, Lindsay finished the 30-day program in two weeks. It was all about the business side of coaching and spot-on with the direction she knew she wanted to take her business in. Since then, she continues to invest in programs and mentorships that she feels truly aligns with her own business, allowing her to grow her business and charge more for her own coaching clients. She can pass on the knowledge to her coaches and continuously invest in herself with learning and education tools.

In 2021, Lindsay’s coaching academy will celebrate its 3rd year and it all started on a camping trip. She was thinking about a program that she wished she had when she was first starting and decided to create the program herself. She builds her routine so that it aligns with exactly what satisfies her and meets both her needs and the needs of her students.

“It’s the reason why I wake up at five in the morning and go to work early so I can be with my students. It's exactly what I'm supposed to do. I simplified my business so I can have all of this on my plate.”

The importance of rituals…

Lindsay also shares the importance of her rituals involving prayer and her daily devotional. It is so important to have a tool you can utilize when challenges happen. One big recommendation Lindsay shares for new business owners is to cut the clutter and stop listening to everything. Decide what you want to focus on and stop allowing yourself to be sidetracked. Trust yourself to do what is best for you and for your business, but at the same time look back and help those who are still on their journey as well.

“It's your job as a coach or any entrepreneur, to walk over and tell those still waving for help how not only how to get across, but then hold their hand and help them. And if you don't know how to do that, then you're in the wrong niche. You're listening to somebody else, your vision needs to be really clear. Your history, your path needs to be really clear in order for people to be able to trust you to ask you to bring them where you are now.”

In 2021, in addition to her next launch, Lindsay is excited to change up her podcast a bit, featuring more solocasts, and also dabbling with a new webinar style.

Lindsay still works her beloved 9-5 because it is so satisfying for her. She truly enjoys it and it meets her emotional needs allowing her to use her talents differently. She also has her coaching business where teaches women how to start and scale their coaching businesses with one-on-one coaching packages. Id addition to the academy, she also runs the Confident Coach Club.
